I had 3 rock chips that needed to be repaired. Was told would be better (safer) to get an entirely new windshield. My insurance covered the cost. I was still skeptical, saying I was fine with just the chip repair, Sean broke it down for me as a safety concern then waived my insurance deductible. Two very nice gentlemen came to my place of work and replaced my windshield perfectly in less than an hour. Everything was clean and perfect.

In one phone call I got a brand new windshield. No money, didn't have to drive anywhere. All I had to do was unlock my car when the workers arrived.

My car was broken into yesterday afternoon, and I was really worried that I was going to have to drive around in the Portland Winter with no window for a while. I called Sir Glass this morning at 7:40 before they even opened, and got a call back ten minutes later. They came to my house at 8:30 this morning, and Arman greeted me. He was very friendly, and fixed my car within about 30 minutes. I just went to get a coffee, ate my breakfast and my car was already fixed.

This review is many months over due. I was back at the Toyota dealership today, and remembered that I had meant to write this review last December. Criteria on whether a windshield can be repaired vary company to company.
SIR Glass will only repair a windshield if it meets the following criteria:

1. Chips or dings that occur inside the glass are not repairable, it must be replaced.

2. The crack can not have created a hole all the way through the glass. If so, we can not repair it, it must be replaced.

These are the main criteria, and after an evaluation by one of our certified professionals, it can be determined if a windshield repair or replacement is your best option.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does insurance cover this?
Yes, under comprehensive coverage your insurance may help cover all or part of the cost of your repair or replacement. Additionally, some insurance carriers offer extra glass coverage so check with your insurance to find out if you have it.

How long does it take?
Typically the work takes 1 hour and the urethane needs 30-60 minutes to cure. This is called the "safe drive away time". Always check the urethane manufacturer's specification to ensure you are following that. 

Does an insurance claim raise my rates?
Nope! Legally comprehensive and glass claims are fault free claims so it should not impact your rates at all. Refer to your local agent for further clarity though.
